love is in the air
kats in the belfry has been getting some love on a few oh so nice websites/blogs. it is quite a wonderful feeling, i must say. lookie here:
* pure pixie features autumn. doesn't he look handsome?
* a few items are shown on natural suburbia, though only my portobellas are mentioned. if you look closely you may also spy my mini mushroom set, & spring on the bottom shelf.
* scroll down oh my! handmade goodness' fantabulistic (real word) holiday gift guide to see my birthday crown.
if all that were not woohoo enough, today i spoke with a woman about carrying my birthday crowns & birthday tiaras in her lovely boutique! we shall see where that path takes us. & yes, i am speaking of the royal we :)
i hope you get some love today as well.

what the?

is this hell? by hell i mean did my windy little hill get moved into the very bowels of hell? they are saying that yesterday was a record high for los angeles: triple digits in the first week of autumn! there aren't words to describe how hot it was. today is, so far, vastly cooler, but to that i say, whatever. once the mercury rises above
today we are playing hooky. i know you shall think me a wimp (& perhaps you're right), but i just cannot function in weather such as this. we are skipping classes, putting off errands, doing no chores. today we sit still, & try not to snap at one another. much. um. as much as we did yesterday.
so, what is with the unrelated photo of feet? nothing. i know how you are about photoless posts, so i took one of my newly painted toes. you're welcome!
i am off to wipe sweat from various places.

note :: this is the first polish i've worn in 7 years! it's a less toxic brand, color: brandon burgandy.

this little guy is autumn. i was going to release one pagan people leading up to the corresponding season, or holiday. yesterday it occurred to me that not everyone is getting ready for spring to, well, spring. i hurriedly designed autumn, so you upside-downers would feel represented.
to be honest, i hadn't planned on males in this line of dolls, but my menfolk wouldn't have any of that. ah well, the goddess needs her manlyman too, i suppose ;)
i'll get him in theshop tomorrow - take a peek today though, because there are other new things to be found.

oww & ooh
the past few days have been lovely, beginning with the return of beloved-yet-abandoning friends from their summer abroad. they; & their new bunny; came for a visit, which lasted well past sunset. it was wonderful to see them after so many months - i don't know who was more excited: the wretched shorties, or we mamas. of course my wee littlest one was immediately smitten by his auntie tinker. why should he be any different than his older brother?
the oww referred to above happened during our visit. let me take this moment to say: excited children & golf clubs do not go well together.

it's hard to see in this photo, but here we have thehobbit's first shiner. we were lucky that the club glanced off the bone beneath his eye, leaving only a faint blue/purple ring. so very lucky! the minitinker responsible for this artistry felt so terrible, that i felt just as bad for her as i did for thehobbit.

it needs a good scrubbing, but other than that, i think it's simply perfect. i cannot wait for tomorrow, when manlyman shall move the bookcase into my studio; to be filled after with stacks & stacks of fabric. hurrah indeed.

the ooh comes in the form of a shabby bookcase, gotten for free yesterday from a neighbor who wasn't able to sell it at his garage sale. hurrah for people who don't love ratty, old things as i do!

there have been other oohs making the past few days lovely: gifts of pomegranates & chocolate pie, other free treasures from the garage sale, the crispness of autumn in the air, & many hours spent with my boys.
i hope you are having such a wonderful time.
