make a spectacle of yourself!

how many of you wear reading glasses? i began wearing them, after a lifetime of 20/20 vision, about a year & a half ago. i went to the doc complaining of migraines, dizziness, & of feeling as though i had motion sickness when watching tv. of course, i thought i was dying from a brain tumor. turns out i was just getting older. whew.

my reason for writing this is curiosity. if you do wear reading specs, how many pair do you own? & don't say just the one, because we both know you'd be lying. i learned quickly that they are forever being misplaced or forgotten. also, where do you keep each?

i shall start - i have five pairs. i keep one by the bed (though right now there are two), one at the sewing machine, one in my diaper bag, one in my hand-sewing basket, & one that is homeless (the one currently visiting the bedroom pair). the homeless pair should be relocated to weasley (my suv), but i most likely shan't ever remember to do so.

before you faint from shock at the cost of five pairs, i should tell you, i got them at the japanese (nearly) two dollar store. i was surprised to find such cute specs there, so bought a bunch. more than the five i listed, if truth be told. the others were misplaced, one at a time, early on. sigh.

don't you love the pair in that photo? mine are cute, but not that cute. i think it would be great fun to have 1920s reading glasses, though i would want the faux tortoise, not black. no need to walk around looking like moaning myrtle's mother.

so your turn! how many, & where are they? links to your dream specs too, so we can all see! (ha! unintended pun there.)
~peace.

I used to do the same thing. Mostly because I would always forget where I put them and my family was tired of helping me look for them! Then I would do the 'look over the rim' thing I refer to as "senator levins look" because we here in Mi see him do that on a regular basis. I finally got pregressive lenses so my glasses are on my face at all times. (one of the downfalls of growing old) My son got some cool glasses from Zetti.com, he bought 2 pair in his scrip. for 30. but I like you have always gone to the dollar store for my reading glasses. Then I could be brave and wear some with rhinestones for only a measly dollar! t.xoxoxoxo
